It covers topics such as the building of Crescent Harbor, the longest Soap Opera in Sitka’s history which finally came to it’s conclusion after forty years of debates and arguments.
This book is about the Old Sitka, population of about 1200 people, and before about 1940 where preparations for war and the war years brought about vast changes to the community of Sitka.

The one hour documentary follows the Tlingits from missionary conquest, school integration, and the right to vote (a full 30 years before the Civil Rights Movement), through a successful suit against the United States government. This long out of circulation PBS documentary is highly recommended by the Sitka Historical Society.
