Research Requests

Thank you for your interest in the Sitka Historical Museum’s collections and archives. Our archives include letters, photographs, diaries, unpublished memoirs and manuscripts, original tape recordings, original film and video tape footage and architectural drawings.

We respond to research requests within ten days of receipt. If you have a research request, please complete our Research and Photography Request Agreement Form as specifically as possible and submit it electronically to the Curator, Jacqueline Fernandez at curator@sitkahistory.org or by mail to:

Research, Photocopy, and Image Fees are as follows:

Archives & Collections Research: first 30 minute search is free; then $20/hour up to 5 hours; $25/hour after

Photocopies: Billed at $1.00 per page, 8 ½” x 11” Scanning: Billed at $1.00 per page

Digital Image and Licensing Fees for Editorial, Commercial and Non-profit Use
Digital Image File for Personal Use: $20.00
Digital Image File for Non-Profit use: $45.00 ($20 for digital image + $25 use fee)
Digital Image File for Alaska Distribution: $45.00 ($20 for digital image + $25 use fee)
Digital Image for Regional Distribution: $120.00 ($20 for digital image + $100 use fee)
Digital Image for National Distribution: $170.00 ($20 for digital image + $150 use fee)
Digital Image for International Distribution: $270.00 ($20 for digital image + $250 use fee)

Shipping and Handling: Requesting party agrees to pay postage and shipping rates, if applicable.
